Overlieges are in Astounding Planet and in Childhood's end, the latter by Arthur Clarke. They have 15 hearts, are armored, and can execute a powerful kick (Justice kick, damage), make a force field (Defense device, reflective field), and shoot lasers (The ol' evil eyebeam, warp). Wikipedia Galactica has a great amount of information on these winged robot overseers, but outside of that, there is almost no information on them, so they remain obscure to those without a computer.
